· About the Author
Clement Wong won the first tournament in which he ever
competed: a national open pairs with a first-time partner when he was 18. He
defended his title the following year. He has since won many open tournaments,
in Taipei, Guangdong, Shanghai, and Singapore, and has represented Hong Kong in
international events, captaining the team to win the single Far East Asian
berth in the Bermuda Bowl in 1991. For 20 years, Clement wrote the popular
bridge column for the Hong Kong Economic Journal. When not writing about
or playing bridge, he is a practicing barrister, management adviser, media
columnist, civil engineer, and university lecturer. In addition to his law and
engineering degrees, he holds a doctorate in business.
