· About the Editors
B. S. Dhankhar, PhD, was Professor and Associate Dean at the CCS Haryana Agricultural University
College of Agriculture in Hisar,
India. He also
served as Assistant Director General of Vegetable Crops at the Indian Council
of Agricultural Research, New Delhi,
where he guided several research projects on the improvement of several crops.
As a research team leader, he has 3 virus-resistant okra varieties to his
credit. Outside of India, he
has been a visiting fellow at the National Vegetable Research Station in
Wellesbourne (United Kingdom)
and has coordinated international research projects on vegetable crops executed
by AVRDC in south Asian countries. Dr. Dhankhar is a fellow of the Indian
Society of Vegetable Science and is a life member of numerous professional
societies.
Ram Singh, PhD, is Professor of Entomology, CCS
Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) in Hisar,
India. He has
worked on various aspects of insect-plant interactions and integrated pest
management at the Horticultural Research International in Wellesbourne,
United Kingdom,
where he served a European Commission Post-doctoral fellowship. The author or
coauthor of more than 120 research papers, 13 book chapters, and 3 books, Dr.
Singh is the recipient of the University Gold medal and Aspee Gold Medal from
HAU and the ICAR Award from New Delhi.
